Welcome to our Vegans of Katy & West Houston Community!

Here’s a little history about our Community. We launched this website for Vegans of Katy & West Houston back in 2018! We’ve been actively hosting meetups for a few years prior to that time — and right up to the Spring of 2020 (when the world went into lockdown). Now that it’s 2022, we’re eager to resume our in-person gatherings.

Vegans of Katy & West Houston actually started out a few years ago in 2013 as a Meetup group on Meetup.com. Katy is a major suburb of Houston’s West side — a region that is growing due to the Energy Corridor, new home developments and nearby high-rated school districts. The West Houston region encompasses the Southwest side from Sugar Land, Missouri City and Richmond all the way to the Northwest side in Cypress, Tomball and Jersey Village.

As a supplement to our Meetup site, we expanded our online presence by creating the Vegans of Katy & West Houston Facebook Page. After a short while of sharing all the amazing vegan options in Katy, Cypress, Sugar Land and the surrounding West Houston suburbs, we then created a supportive Discussion Group on Facebook. We also established a well-followed Instagram profile.

The costs to host a Meetup.com site continued to rise, so we phased out our presence there in favor of this new website to showcase all the great vegan lifestyle options in the region. We’ll continue to keep an active presence on both our Facebook Page, Instagram and our Discussion Group and we look forward to expanding our visibility here on the internet!
